Note: You must already have a LeanLaw account to use the mobile application.
You can access and add information to your LeanLaw across three platforms: a browser, the desktop application, and the mobile application. This article will cover these frequently asked questions associated with LeanLaw's mobile application:
How do I install LeanLaw on my phone?
LeanLaw's mobile app is supported on Android and Apple, and can be downloaded for free from your phone's application store. If you use an Android device, your application store is called Google Play Store. If you use an Apple device, your application store is called App Store.

In your phone, locate and open the application for your application store. As mentioned above, your application store will have a different name depending on the make of your phone.
2. Search for LeanLaw

How do I add and edit a time entry on mobile?
Additions and changes on the mobile application don't just save to your phone--they save to your LeanLaw firm. You can view them later from the mobile application, desktop application, or from your browser! This section will show you how to make time entries on the mobile application.
1. Press the plus sign +
At the bottom of any page of the LeanLaw mobile application, you should see a large green button with a white plus symbol. Press this button and select New Time Entry to begin creating a new time entry.
2. Fill out the time entry
As with all LeanLaw platforms, you'll need to enter a client, a matter, and a description for your time entry before the program will allow you to save the entry. Go ahead and fill those out.
Optionally, you can also:
Press the Hours field to change the number of hours recorded.
Press the Set Time switch to set exact times for when your time entry started and stopped.
Press the Billable switch to toggle whether or not you wish this time entry to be billed (if the switch is green and switched to the right side, the entry will be billed).
Press the Add Multiple Entries switch. If this switch is on, as soon as you save the entry you're currently working on, a new time entry form will immediately be opened with all of the client, matter, and other information remembered.
Once you've added all information you wish, press the Save button on the top right to save your time entry. You now have a new time entry saved to your LeanLaw!
3. Editing your time entry (optional)
If you're not already there, navigate to the Time Entry tab by pressing by pressing either the Time Entry text or its calendar icon on the bottom navigation bar. Here, you'll find all time entries created today (you can also navigate to other days' entries with the arrows next to the date). If you wish to edit a time entry, all you have to do is press on the entry in the calendar. This will reopen the Time Entry form and allow you to make changes. Press the Save button on the top right to save your changes.
How do I add and edit an expense on mobile?
Adding an expense begins the same way as creating a time entry.
1. Press the plus sign +
At the bottom of any page on the LeanLaw mobile application, you should see a large green button with a white plus symbol. Press this button and select New Expense to begin creating a new expense.
2. Fill out the Expense form

How do I use timers on mobile?
Using timers requires you be on the Timers page. Navigate to Timers by using the navigation bar across the bottom of the application, either by pressing on the Timers text or on its stopwatch icon.
Starting a timer
Now that you're on the Timers page, you can start a timer by pressing on either the text Start a new timer or on the red and white play icon beside the text. You'll know a timer is running when its background is red, it displays Recording, and its time is counting up. Note that you can create as many timer entries as you wish, but only one timer may be running at a time.
Pausing a timer
You can pause a timer by either starting a new timer or by pressing the pause icon to the left of the word Save on the timer. Press the icon again to resume the timer.
Saving a timer, turning it into a time entry
Pressing the Save text on a timer, either while it's going or while it's paused, will create a new time entry using the start and stop times from your timer as well as the hours recorded by your timer. All you need to do to turn your timer into a time entry is select a client and matter for your time entry, fill out a description, apply a LEDES code (if your firm uses LEDES), and press Save.
Can I delete entries on the mobile application?
Yes. Whether your entry is a time entry, an expense, or a timer, it can be removed in the same way: simply hold your finger down on the entry and swipe your finger to the left. This will partially slide the entry to the left and reveal a trash can icon to the right of the entry. Press this trash can to reveal a final prompt which asks, "Delete this [entry type]?" Pressing Delete will delete the entry from your LeanLaw.
Can I add or edit matters on the mobile application?
Currently, no. You can navigate to your Matters list by pressing either the Matters text or its folder icon on the bottom navigation bar. You can use this list to view matter information such as the client connected to the matter, the matter's name, the matter's ID, and the billing type. This information is provided to help you verify that you're assigning time entries and expenses to the correct matter. However, matters are currently view-only on the LeanLaw mobile application.
BONUS: All of your time saved on the mobile application will automatically sync to LeanLaw!
