Desktop Tracker is a time saving tool available for download to your PC or Mac. It enables you to complete some simple tasks in LeanLaw without needing a browser open. It allows you to quickly see the matters that you have access to, create a time entry, track what you have done for the day, and start/stop timers.

Install the Desktop Tracker:

Step 1: Settings

Click on the Gear Icon in the top right hand corner of LeanLaw Screen.

Step 2: Tools

Under My Settings, select Tools tab.

Step 3: Select OS

In Tools for Tracking Time, select the dropdown to select your Operating System next to LeanLaw Desktop Tracker.

MacOS Users

We have two download options available now based on the chipset used on your device.

If you do not know which chipset you have, you will need to identify it before selecting a download option. To determine this, please do the following:

Click the Apple icon on the menu bar at the top-left corner of your screen, and then select About This Mac:

In the pop-up window, if the first line reads something like Chip Apple M1 Max or Chip Apple M1 Pro or Chip Apple M2 Max, then please select Download for Mac - Apple Chip

In the pop-up window, if the first line reads something like Processor ... Intel Core i7 or Processor ... Intel Core i9 then please select Download for Mac - Intel Chip

Troubleshooting Installation Issues

Below are some common ways to resolve issues with the installation.

I got a warning message when downloading.

A warning message may appear next to the leanlaw.exe at the bottom left hand corner or your screen. It is okay to proceed by choosing “Keep.”

A leanlaw.exe will appear in the lower left corner of the screen. From the arrow menu, choose “Open”

Windows protected your PC Message

A Windows protected your PC screen may appear. If you see this screen, click on More Info.

In Windows protected your PC blue screen, it will show App: leanlaw.exe. It is safe to run the app, so choose Run anyway.
