Overview

Using Zapier, you can connect Docketwise and LeanLaw so that new contacts in Docketwise automatically create matching client records in LeanLaw. This eliminates duplicate data entry between your immigration practice management platform and your billing system.

Beta Notice: The LeanLaw Zapier app is currently in beta and is not fully supported by the LeanLaw support team. We welcome your feedback at product@myleanlaw.com as we continue to expand functionality ahead of a full release.

What You'll Need

  • A LeanLaw account with API access

  • A Docketwise account

  • A Zapier account (free or paid)

How It Works

Zapier connects Docketwise and LeanLaw using a simple "trigger and action" workflow called a Zap. When something happens in Docketwise (the trigger), Zapier automatically performs an action in LeanLaw.

Note: Docketwise's Zapier triggers use polling, so new contacts are picked up within a few minutes rather than instantly.

Getting Started

  1. Log in to Zapier and click Create a Zap

  2. Set the trigger: Search for Docketwise, select it, and choose New Contact

  3. Connect your Docketwise account and test the trigger

  4. Set the action: Search for LeanLaw, select it, and choose Create Client

  5. Connect your LeanLaw account using your API key

  6. Map the fields from Docketwise to LeanLaw (see tips below)

  7. Test the Zap and turn it on

Field Mapping Tips

Docketwise Contact → LeanLaw Client

  • Map the Docketwise contact Name to the LeanLaw client Name

  • Docketwise does not currently offer a case or matter trigger on Zapier, so only client syncing is available through this integration. If you only need clients, consider creating a matter with the same name under the client you created.
