Overview

The updated Time Entries page is designed to integrate M365 calendar data directly into LeanLaw and address long-standing usability feedback. The changes improve visibility, streamline entry, and add flexibility for power users. A user-managed toggle is available to switch between the old and new experiences during the transition. The toggle only affects your view, not your firm’s.

Key Changes

Filters and Layout

  • Filters now appear at the top, modeled after the Billing page, so you can see your filters and enter time simultaneously.

  • Time entry creation panel is now on the right side of the page.

  • You can hide/show the insights widget and filters to maximize workspace.

  • Expand or minimize the time entry modal depending on how much space you need.

M365 Calendar Integration

New Entry Creation Capabilities

  • Add Clients, Matters, and Fixed Fees within the time entry creation flow.

  • Permissions required:

    • Create and edit Clients/Matters

    • Create/Edit Fixed Fees

  • Roles and permissions of your users can be reviewed in Settings. Pro and Elite subscriptions can customize the permissions for each role. View support article.

Table Customization

  • Optionally show LEDES codes by using the Columns dropdown.

Power User Enhancements

  • Coming Soon: Keyboard shortcuts to speed up bulk entry for heavy keyboard users.

Transition Details

  • Each user can switch between the old and new Time Entries page for now to ensure comfort with the new experience. The toggle controls your experience only. It does not affect other users within your firm.

  • We'll provide 30 days of notice when we are planning to completely depreciate the old Time Entries page so you and your team can get comfortable with the new experience.
