FAQ

Q: I want to change how LeanLaw automates my Invoice Date so I can prepare my invoices in advance. How do I set the firm's default invoice due date?

A: The Invoice Date is set in the Invoice Presentation page of your Settings. You can choose between the last day of the billing period or when the invoice was created.

How to set the firm's default invoice date

1. Open Settings

From the top right corner of any page in LeanLaw, click the gear icon โš™๏ธ to open your Firm Settings page.

2. Click Invoice Presentation

In Firm Settings, in the left side menu, click Invoice Presentation to open the Invoice Presentation page.

3. Choose your invoice date

Near the bottom of the Invoice Presentation page, click on the Invoice Date setting you wish to set for your firm.

  • Last Day of Billing Period: when this setting is used, invoices will have a creation date based on the last day you of the Time Period filter you used in Ready to Bill. A Time Period of "All Time" will use the last day of the current month.

  • When Invoice Was Created: when this setting is used, invoices will have a creation date of the day when the invoice was first created from Ready to Bill into Drafts.
