How to Automate Your Workflow with LeanLaw's Zapier App

LeanLaw's integration with Zapier is a powerful tool designed to streamline your legal practice by automating the creation of time entries, clients, and matters from a multitude of systems compatible with Zapier.

Note: While the LeanLaw Zapier App is in beta, it is not fully supported by LeanLaw's support team. We welcome feedback to product@myleanlaw.com while we make plans to release additional functionality and make the Zapier app more robust before releasing it out of beta. There are known limitations, including, for example, the ability to dynamically assign clients and matters to newly created time entries (depending on how one sets it up).

This document will guide you through utilizing LeanLaw's Zapier app, which is currently in beta and requires an invitation from our product team. We'll specifically focus on automating the creation of clients and matters from partner systems and CRMs.

Requesting Access to the Beta

To get started with LeanLaw's Zapier app, you first need to secure an invitation, as the app is in its beta phase. Reach out directly to the LeanLaw product team -- product@myleanlaw.com -- to request access. Once you have your invitation:

  1. Accept the Invitation: Follow the link provided by the LeanLaw product team to gain access to our Zapier app.

Setting Up Your Integration

Before integrating your systems with LeanLaw via Zapier, ensure you have a Zapier account. If you don't, sign up at Zapier. Here's how to connect your accounts:

  1. Go to Your Zapier Dashboard: Connect your LeanLaw account along with any other accounts (e.g., Hubspot, Lawmatics, Google Sheets, etc.) you wish to integrate.

Automating Client and Matter Creation from CRMs and Marketing Systems

CRMs play a crucial role in client management and business development. Here's how to automate this process:

  1. Choose Your CRM as the Trigger App: In Zapier, select your CRM (e.g., Lawmatics) as the trigger.

  2. Select the Trigger Event: Choose an event like a new client creation, new lead or form submission, in the CRM.

  3. Set LeanLaw as the Action: Pick LeanLaw to receive data and create a new client or matter.

  4. Customize the Data Mapping: Ensure the information from your CRM is correctly mapped to LeanLaw's fields.

  5. Test and Activate Your Zap: Always test your Zap to confirm it functions as expected before making it live.

Highlight: Lawmatics Integration

Integrating Lawmatics with LeanLaw through Zapier automates the flow of client information, enhancing efficiency. Either (1) when a new client is added in Lawmatics or (2) when a lead is moved along in the Lawmatics funnel, a corresponding record can be automatically created in LeanLaw, streamlining client intake and data management.
