For LeanLaw + Confido Legal Users

Before You Begin

Make sure:

  • All trust accounts you want to map are set up and active in Confido Legal.

  • Your LeanLaw and QuickBooks Online accounts are properly connected.

Step 1: Access LeanLaw Settings

  1. Log into LeanLaw.

  2. Click the gear icon (⚙️) in the lower-left corner to open Settings.

  3. Navigate to Payments & Trust > Confido Legal Integration.

Step 2: Review Your Confido Legal Trust Accounts

  1. In the Confido Legal Integration settings, LeanLaw will display the trust accounts currently available in your Confido Legal account.

  2. Confirm that all the accounts you want to map appear here.

    • If an account is missing, check Confido Legal to ensure it’s active and properly configured.

Step 3: Map Trust Accounts

For each Confido Legal trust account:

  1. Find the Confido Legal trust account in the mapping table.

  2. Use the dropdown menu to select the corresponding trust liability account from QuickBooks Online.

    • This ensures that funds flow into the correct liability accounts for accurate accounting.

Note: You can map as many Confido Legal trust accounts as needed.

Step 4: Save Changes

  1. After mapping all applicable accounts, click Save at the bottom of the screen.

  2. LeanLaw will confirm your mappings are saved successfully.

Step 5: Test Your Setup (Recommended)

  1. Create a small test transaction in Confido Legal (e.g., a minimal deposit).

  2. Verify that the transaction syncs correctly to LeanLaw and QuickBooks Online, posting to the appropriate mapped trust liability account.

Updating or Changing Mappings

  • You can return to Settings > Payments & Trust > Confido Legal Integration at any time to add, remove, or change account mappings.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Missing accounts? Double-check that the trust accounts are active in Confido Legal and that your integration is connected.

  • Mapping dropdown not populating? Ensure your QuickBooks Online connection is active. Try refreshing the page or re-authenticating the integration.
